Labor Day
Labor Day is on the first Monday of September. The country Canada also celabrates Labor Day on the first Monday of September. Labor Day is when we celebrate people that work in our community and it also means that it is the end of summer. This Labor Day i will have a basketball game.
Halloween
Halloween started 2,000 years ago at a festival known as Samhain. Samhain was celebrated on November 1. On the night of Samhain people believed that the dead returned as ghosts so they wore mask when they went out of their house's because they thought there were ghosts outside. People left food, specifically pumpkins and wine on their steps because they believed that it would keep the spirits away. Americans spend $ 5.8 billion dollars on candy and costumes. We spend $2.3 billion dollars on candy alone. Americans spend $3.5 billion dollars on costumes alone.
I love Easter because of all of the pretty colors.This Easter it is my mom's birthday. Carol, Macie, Silas, and me are making Easter dinner for mom. Every Easter we color Easter eggs and go on a Easter egg hunt. Rachel might come up if she does not have work or something else to do. I do not know if she knows that Easter is mom's birthday.
Memorial Day is about honoring the people who died while serving in the military. We have a weenie roast every memorial day. Memorial day is very important to us. We respect and honor the people who died while serving in the military. It is on the last Monday in May.
Christmas
This year for Christmas me and my family are going to elkins to see our grandparents. We are going to decorate our fake Christmas tree. My family is going to have a lot of presents under the tree. Silas wants Blaze and the monster machines for Christmas. I want a guitar. Macie wants Ugg boots. Carol wants a art set. Dusty wants $100. Mom wants a picture of Carol, Dusty, Macie, Silas, and me. Dad wants a side by side motorcycle.
Christmas is when Jesus was born. We celebrate it by giving presents to each other. We also celebrate it by spending time with family. We spend time with family because without Jesus we wouldn't have each other.
